THIS....... is my American Idol

Oh how I love American Idol. Some people make fun of the show and of Paula, but I will stick to my guns and die a fan of both. I love Paula! How can you not with those dance moves, her ability to always find encouraging and positive things to say, and more hairstyles than all of the females I know combined! Paula rocks.

I know that everyone has their opinions about who should win American Idol this year - and I'd love to hear them - however.... these are my top 5 contestants and a brief explanation as to why.

5. Kris Allen
He is like the Jason Castro of this season. He can play the guitar, and also has a really good voice. He is just adorable!

4. Allison Iraheta

She has got a seriously good voice and alot of confidence for only being 16 years old. She is such a rocker-chic. However, she has social awkwardness issues, which is understandable being so young. I always look forward to her performances though, because she's just plain good.

3. Matt Giraud
Between his voice and his talent on the piano, he definitely is a contender for being the next American Idol. You have to love a guy with that much talent, and yet so much humilty at the same time. What a sweetheart!

2. Adam LambertI have to say the make up and screaming vocals are sometimes a bit much, but I have to give him his credit. I'd be crazy to say he wasn't just plain sick. He doesn't have my favorite personality, but if he won AI - it wouldn't surprise me at all.

AND MY #1 PICK IS............

1. Megan JoyShe doesn't have the typical "belt-it-out" voice of an American Idol, but she is so unique and beautiful. She is mesmerizing. Like the judges often say, it is about being relevant. The newest artists to come out are ones like Adelle and Duffy - and Megan fits right into that genre of music.

And there you have it - American Idol season 8 "what I think should happen".

Race for the cure!

Well, since my junior year of college, when I really got into running and exercise (thank you, freshman 15), I have literally run over a thousand miles - but can you believe never in a race?! It seems pointless to run that much if there's never going to be anything challenging that comes out of it. So, this past weekend, my friend Jen and I ran 5K in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at Coconut Point. I was so excited to finish in under 24 min, which was my goal! While I was running, I was thinking "Props to those who have run a marathon - I don't know if I could!" My next goal, is the 1/2. We'll see :).

Brandon only had his iPhone to take pictures with, and low and behold, 3 days later – and before I had the chance to upload the pics to the computer - he dropped his phone in the driveway and ran it over. So the pictures from the actual event are gone forever, but here are a couple pics we took when we got back to la casa.

And a SHOUT OUT TO AESICS…here are my faithful running shoes that I have had for about 4 years!!! If you are going to get into running, I suggest nothing but Aesics. I’ve tried Nike Shox, New balance, and Reeboks, but none compare!!! They can be a little expensive, but like I said, mine have lasted 4 years. Can’t beat it!
