25 Random Things

Ok, so I stole this from my facebook beacause I havne't written in a little while. Call me lazy...

25 Random Things...

1. I'm one of 5 children: 4 girls, 1 boy - poor Johnny!

2. I attribute much of the protection of my siblings and myself to my mama's relentless commitment to praying for us.

3. Favorite ice cream: Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip with Hershey's syrup.

4. My dad should be a contestant on Jeopardy. He is really smart.

5. The most relaxing 3 moments in my day include: taking the first sip of coffee early in the morning; seeing Brandon walk through the door after work; laying my head down on my pillow next to my best friend.

6. I got food poisoning on my honeymoon, and simultaneously had diarrhea and vomiting while my husband was holding the bag for me to throw up in. I don't think anything more embarrassing could happen, so we're set from here on out!

7. If I eat something salty, I usually need to eat something sweet immediately after..... and then usually something salty again. It's a viscous cycle.

8 My best friend is my sister Nina. She is such a free-spirit, and I love it!

9. When I was little my dad would teach me the different names of trees and plants as we drove around, and now my husband does the same thing.

10 My favorite palm tree is the Canary Palm because it looks like a pineapple.

11. I married my college sweetheart.

12. I love anything small, cuddly and squeezable.

13. Elephants and penguins are my favorite animals, and I'm really disappointed that neither are acceptable pets.

14. It's impossible to have too many candles or too much chapstick.

15. I love my Iphone.

16. I still feel like I'm 18, and wonder if I'll feel that way when I'm 40.

17. I like to stare at my husband, because I think he is just so beautiful.

18. When my hair starts turning gray, I want to dye it dark brown.

19. I miss my college and NJ friends, and wish they all lived near me!

20. I love to eat and am thankful for a fast metabolism and the gym.

21. I love love love babies(!!!) but don't want any of my own for 3-5 years.

22. I took a bowling class in college, which has done wonders for my social life.

23. I often paint my nails, then peal it off a day later, and then paint them all over again.

24. My husband and I generally do not get along while we play monopoly. Or poker.

25. I love life and all the beautiful people God has placed in it!

Home Sweet Home

Good morning!!! Well, I know it is cold up north, because it has been relatively cold down here in FL. A friend from Ohio told me it was 1 degeree when she walked to her car for work the other morning. 1 degree!!!??? I don't miss that part of the north. I guess I moved at the right time of the year! The high in Ft Myers is 70 today and 75 tomorrow... I can handle that. So anyways, we have been moved into the new house for 3 weeks now... and it's a work in progress, but it is starting to feel like home. Here are some pics:

Brandon's dad was nice enough to hook us up with some very beautiful landscaping....

Pretty plants about to be put in

Almost finished... it looks so wonderful now with all the exotic trees and plants!

Mugs from Mr and Mrs Russell. We love them!!!
Cute mugs from Brooke... everyone must know we love coffee :)
Kitchen
Our bathroom sinks
Tub and Shower
Our dresser

LOVE LOVE LOVE our bed :).

I made dinner for our one month! Chicken and artichoke fettucine... I must say it was really good, but I can't take any credit, I just followed the instructions in the Southern Living cookbook!

I actually took a video walk through of the whole house, inside and out, but can't figure out how to put it on youtube. I guess I'm not as tech-savy as I thought! Anyone who thinks they can help - please let me know!

I hope everyone is staying warm...

GOOOOOOOO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Megan

Hello from Mr & Mrs Duke!

Well....I promise I have not gone MIA, we've just been really busy! What a whirlwind the last 3 weeks have been. Brandon and I got married on December 14, and it was the most perfectly beautiful day I could have ever asked for. The whole weekend was amazing... my sister Nina did a great job of blogging the details... so you can read them under her blog if you'd like: ninarosediferdinand.blogspot.com.

Here are some pics of my bachelorette party, the rehearsal dinner and wedding:

We went ice skating at Penn's Landing in Philly, and then back to one of my bridesmaid's (Brenda) house to open the goodies :).

College friends... Holli, Cissie and Lindsay

The rehearsal dinner was so amazing... and Brandon and I felt so blessed to hear all of the funny stories, and humbling things that our friends and family had to say to and about us. Brandon's parents as well as mine, and some of Brandon's uncles prayed over us, and after that, my nerves were calmed for the big day.

My beautiful bridesmaid April... don't know what I would have done without you!
My sister and best friend Nina... the Maid of Honor!

Then came the big day.... and like I said, it was all I had ever dreamed of :). Here are a few pics that my brother's girfriend, Aryn, took:

And then there was the honeymoon in St Lucia.... a beautiful island - perfect weather.

Eating at Kimomo's at another resort
Such BEAUTIFUL scenery
Ziplining through the rainforest

Right after the honeymoon, we spent 3 days with my family in NJ for Christmas, and then drove to Augusta GA for our good friends Steve and Holli ACKLEY's wedding! Brandon was a groomsman and I was a Bridesmaid. Holli was a beautiful bride and so much fun! She was the dancing queen of the night!

After the wedding in GA, we drove straight to Ft Myers Florida, and now we are all moved into our NEW HOUSE! We're working on getting furniture, and getting everything set up, so pics will be coming soon! And that's the last three weeks in a nutshell! Thank you all for the nice comments and all the prayers!

Love,
Megan and Brandon
